What other restrictions are there due to the Corona location?

None, but we recommend that our guests voluntarily wear a medical mask in the visitor center and during the tour.

What's the temperature underground?

Please note that the temperature underground is constant +12 degree in sommer and winter.

Where can I redeem my gift voucher?

Gift vouchers can only be redeemed at the cash desk.

Can I take a dog into the Old Salt Works?

No, dogs are not allowed in our tourist attraction.

Is the visit suitable for small children?

Yes, we don't have any age restrictions. Please note that the path undergound is not suitable for baby buggies or carrying frames. Baby slings are allowed.

Can I film or take pictures? 

For security reasons it's not allowed to take pictures or make a film underground during the total tour through the Old Salt Works. Thank you for your understanding.

Can I visit the Old Salt Works without a guide?

No, the tour through the Old Salt Works is always a guided tour.

Which clothes are most suitable?

It's advisable to take warm clothes. You also need sturdy shoes. Attention: slip hazard!

Can I visit the Old Salt Works with a wheelchair?

Please note that it is not possible to visit the Old Salt Works with a wheel chair.

How long does the guided tour take?

The tour through the spring construction and the salt museum takes about 60 minutes. 

How long is the walk through Old Salt Works?

The way accounts around 400 metres with approx. 200 steps. Therefrom 72 steps go down.

Where are parking facilities?

The Old Salt Works has limited paid parking spaces located directly on the premises of the Old Salt Works (Südhof and Nordhof). Additional paid public parking is available on Salinenstraße. 
Please allow sufficient time to find a parking space.
