FAQ

How do we react to the risk of infection from COVID-19?

In order to ensure the protection of our guests and employees, we have adapted our operation to the current situation:

  • As a result of the 15th. Bavarian Ordinance on Measures for the Prevention of Infection, access is only possible with 2G Plus verification. Access is only permitted to those who are vaccinated and to those who have recovered from Covid with an additional certified negative test result (no more than 48 hours old).

Children under the age of 14 years are exempt from the 2G Plus regulation

The following have the same status as those who have been tested:
    - Children up to the age of six
    - School pupils who undergo regular testing at school (Bavaria, in agreement with the other states and the federal government, has made the decision to exempt students from the additional testing requirement during the vacations as well.)
    - Children not yet of school age
    - Vaccinated guests who either receive another dose of vaccine as a booster or have survived infection with SARS-CoV-2 coronavirus after being fully immunized.

Under the following link you will find various test stations in the area, here you can register in advance for a free test:

More information about the test stations in the county can be found here.
  • The maximum permitted group size per guided tour depends on the (changing) legal requirements in Bavaria and the hygiene concept we have created and adapted on this basis.
  • A distance of 1.5 metres must be maintained between visitors who are not part of the same family.
  • All guests between the ages of 6 and 15 should wear a medical face mask in the visitor centre and during the entire tour. Guests over the age of 16 should wear a FFP2 mask during the visit.
  • Disinfection stations in the entrance and exit area.
  • In order to trace possible chains of infection, contact details must be given at the ticket office when buying a ticket.
  • Please note that there are restrictions due to the current situation and an independent exploration of the Salt Museum is not possible after the guided tour through the tunnel system.

The following persons will not be granted access:

  • Persons who have had contact with COVID-19 cases within the last 14 days.
  • Persons with symptoms typical of an infection with the SARS-CoV-2 coronavirus (fever, new cough, loss of sense of smell or taste or shortness of breath)
  • Visitors who have arrived directly from an area which, at the time of the visit, is categorised as at risk according to the information currently available for the designation of international at risk areas by the Foreign Office, Ministry of the Interior and Ministry for Health, must comply with respective legal requirements (testing, quarantine, if necessary, etc.).
