General Terms and Conditions of Business and Sale for the Purchase or Reservation of Admission Tickets and Vouchers via the Online Ticket Shop www.alte-saline.de

The provider is Südwestdeutsche Salzwerke AG ("SWS AG"), Alte Saline Bad Reichenhall, Alte Saline 9, D-83435 Bad Reichenhall. Further information can be found in the legal notice.

For ease of reading, these Terms and Conditions do not use gender-specific language. However, the term "customer" applies equally to all genders and does not imply any judgement or discrimination.

Section 1 Purchase of admission tickets

Tickets and reservations for the following admissions can be purchased at www.alte-saline.de:

(1) Tickets for a visit to the Alte Saline Bad Reichenhall

(2) Combined tickets for a visit to the Alte Saline Bad Reichenhall and the Salt Mine in Berchtesgaden (for special provisions, see Section 3).

Section 2 Purchase and reservation process for a visit to the Alte Saline Bad Reichenhall

Admission tickets and reservations for a visit to the Alte Saline Bad Reichenhall can be purchased on the website www.alte-saline.de as follows:

(1) Order with login (after receipt of password and login name) for tour operators: reservation only; payment before admission at the ticket desk of the Alte Saline Bad Reichenhall or, where applicable, by invoice.

(2) Order with login (after receipt of password and login name) for partners: purchase on account, invoiced monthly. Limited to groups of up to 19 persons. The partner provides the purchased online tickets to its customers.

(3) Order without login:

a) Individual/group booking of 1 to 19 tickets: online booking and payment by credit card or PayPal; receipt of the admission ticket(s) as online tickets for self-printing or display on a mobile device.

b) Order of 20 tickets or more: online reservation; receipt and payment of the admission ticket(s) on site at the ticket desk of the Alte Saline Bad Reichenhall or, where applicable, by invoice. For every 25 paying persons, the group receives one free place at the ticket desk on site.

c) Children up to the age of three are admitted free of charge. A free ticket must nevertheless be obtained for them. If the correct age is entered, no charge will be made for the ticket. The child's age may be checked during the visit to the Alte Saline Bad Reichenhall (identification required). If entitlement to a free ticket cannot be demonstrated at the time of the visit, the regular ticket price must be paid.

A visit to the Alte Saline Bad Reichenhall is also subject to the General Terms of Contract and Rules of Conduct for the Alte Saline Bad Reichenhall (AVB). Explanations during the guided tour are generally provided in German. However, free translation texts are available to our guests in English, French, Italian and Russian.

Section 3 Purchase and reservation of a "combined ticket"

(1) A partner may purchase a combined ticket for admission to the Alte Saline Bad Reichenhall and the Salt Mine Berchtesgaden.

(2) Combined tickets for the Alte Saline Bad Reichenhall and the Salt Mine Berchtesgaden can be purchased online for 1 to 19 persons and reserved online for 20 persons or more, in the same way as online tickets for the Salt Mine.

(3) For combined tickets with the Salt Mine Berchtesgaden, the maximum group size is 50 persons per guided tour in the Salt Mine and 40 persons per guided tour in the Alte Saline.

(4) When booking via www.alte-saline.de, the customer selects a fixed date and time for both the Alte Saline Bad Reichenhall and the Salt Mine Berchtesgaden. The customer then receives a PDF containing two tickets, one page for the Alte Saline and one page for the Salt Mine Berchtesgaden.

(5) The ticket for the Alte Saline Bad Reichenhall is validated directly at the ticket desk of the Alte Saline Bad Reichenhall on the booked date.

(6) The ticket for the Salt Mine Berchtesgaden is validated at the turnstile at the Salt Mine Berchtesgaden.

Section 4 Product vouchers

(1) Vouchers that can be redeemed for a visit to the Alte Saline can also be purchased via the online ticket shop. The customer receives a promotional code by email, which can be entered during the booking process in the online ticket shop.

(2) The vouchers are valid for three years.

(3) Consumers have a statutory right of withdrawal in respect of vouchers (see below).

Section 5 Discounts and proof of entitlement

Discounted tickets are available to persons holding discount certificates shown in the online ticket shop. These tickets can also be booked online. Discount certificates do not need to be scanned. However, entitlement to the discount will be checked during the visit. If entitlement cannot be demonstrated at the time of the visit, the ticket does not entitle the holder to admission.

Section 6 Conclusion of the contract

(1) For offers that can be booked online, the contract is concluded by selecting the buttons "Submit order" and "Buy with obligation to pay".

(2) After ordering and/or reserving admission tickets for up to 19 visitors at www.alte-saline.de, the customer proceeds to payment. Payment selection is handled by the service provider Unzer. Once payment has been made, the customer immediately receives an email confirming the order details.

Section 7 Online ticket for self-printing or display on mobile devices

(1) Online tickets for self-printing or display on a mobile device are available when payment is made by credit card or PayPal. For 1 to 19 visitors, use of an online ticket is mandatory.

(2) Online tickets for a visit to the Alte Saline Bad Reichenhall may be booked at any time up to 30 minutes before the start of the guided tour. Following successful booking, the ticket is sent to the customer by email as a PDF file and can be displayed or printed on A4 paper. The ticket contains the admission ticket or tickets, where applicable for several persons.

(3) The online ticket is transferable.

(4) In the online ticket process, the various booking details are encrypted in a Data Matrix code. In the event of misuse, for example an attempted unauthorised multiple use of an online ticket, no valid admission ticket exists. In such a case, the admission fee will be charged retrospectively. In addition, the misuse will be reported to the police.

Section 8 Special provisions for group bookings

(1) Unless otherwise agreed, the price payable for a group booking must be paid at the admission desk in cash or by debit or credit card no later than immediately before the service is used. On the basis of a separate agreement, Südwestdeutsche Salzwerke AG (SWS AG) offers selected contractual partners the option of settling accounts using vouchers and monthly invoices. Invoices issued by SWS AG are due for payment without deduction upon receipt. The contractual partner is in default if payment is not made within 30 days of the invoice date.

(2) The maximum group size per guided tour is 40 persons. Allocation is at the sole discretion of SWS AG. If the contractual partner's booked group does not reach this number, the group may be joined by other guests. If this is not desired, a separate private guided tour may be booked subject to special conditions.

(3) For group reservations without online payment, SWS AG is entitled to withdraw from the contract if facts exist that justify concern that the contractual partner will be unable to pay for the booked service. This applies in particular if an application has been made to open insolvency proceedings over the contractual partner's assets.

Section 9 Checking and complaints

(1) Immediately after receiving the admission ticket or the order confirmation sent by email, the customer must check that the number of visitors, date and time are correct. The details on the invoice or receipt must also be checked.

(2) Complaints concerning incorrect admission tickets or invoices must be submitted without delay, meaning no later than two working days after receipt of the order confirmation. Complaints must be submitted in writing by email to info@alte-saline.de or by fax to +49 (0)8651-7002-6196.

(3) The date shown in the email or fax transmission record is decisive for compliance with the complaint deadline.

Section 10 Cancellation

(1) The online purchase of tickets for 1 to 19 persons is always binding. Purchased tickets cannot be cancelled or exchanged.

(2) A group reservation may be cancelled free of charge up to five days before the visit. Cancellation must be submitted by email to info@alte-saline.de. If cancellation takes place fewer than five days before the booked date, a cancellation fee of 20% of the booking amount will be charged.

(3) Orders placed with a partner login in accordance with Section 2(2) may be cancelled free of charge up to five days before the visit. Cancellation must be submitted by email to info@salzbergwerk.de. If cancellation takes place fewer than five days before the booked date, notification by telephone is also mandatory (08652-6002-0). In this case, cancellation charges are governed by the existing agreement with the partner.

(4) The provisions governing withdrawal from contracts concluded away from business premises and distance contracts do not apply to the purchase of admission tickets for leisure events if, as in this case, the contract provides for a specific date or period for performance, pursuant to the exception in Section 312g(2)(9) of the German Civil Code (BGB).

Section 11 Payment by credit card

(1) Three payment methods are offered for orders at www.alte-saline.de: customers may pay by PayPal, by credit card (Mastercard, Visa, Maestro), or upon collection using the usual payment methods.

(2) After "Credit card" has been selected as the payment method, the customer is redirected to the Unzer payment page.

(3) Credit card payment is made by entering the credit card number, expiry date and, where applicable, CVC number in the corresponding fields of the order dialogue. These details are used by the payment intermediaries involved solely for the purpose of collecting payment and are stored only for this purpose.

Section 12 Payment by PayPal

(1) After "PayPal" has been selected as the payment method, the customer is redirected to the Unzer payment page. The PayPal application opens there in a separate window.

(2) The customer is then asked to enter their login details (email address and password). The customer may then choose to make payment by credit card, direct debit or debit from their PayPal account.

(3) To make a payment by credit card or direct debit, this function must first have been enabled in the customer's PayPal account. Further information about the PayPal payment system is available at https://www.paypal.com/de.

Section 13 Data protection/data security

(1) Personal order data is collected, processed and used in accordance with the applicable statutory provisions. When payment is made at www.alte-saline.de, data is transmitted using 256-bit Secure Socket Layer encryption (SSL). SSL is used worldwide by financial institutions for online banking and corresponds to the currently highest security standards on the internet.

(2) As soon as the customer has entered their details during payment and selected the confirmation button, the information is transmitted in encrypted form and is therefore protected against external access.

Section 14 Withdrawal by SWS AG

(1) SWS AG is entitled to withdraw from the contract for good cause, in particular if force majeure or other circumstances beyond the control of SWS AG make performance of the contract impossible, for example mining-related technical work or situations that could affect the safety of guests.

(2) In this case, the admission fee already paid will be refunded. No liability is accepted for any further loss or damage.

Section 15 Limitation of liability

(1) Irrespective of the legal basis, SWS AG is liable for compensation for damage suffered by the contractual partner in connection with the contractual cooperation only in cases of intent or gross negligence. If SWS AG is not responsible for an intentional or grossly negligent breach of contract, liability for damages is limited to the foreseeable loss or damage typically arising.

(2) SWS AG is also liable in accordance with statutory provisions if it culpably breaches a material contractual obligation. Material contractual obligations are obligations whose fulfilment is essential for the proper performance of the contract and on whose observance the customer regularly relies and may rely. In this case, liability for damages is limited to the foreseeable loss or damage typically arising, unless paragraph (1), concerning intent and gross negligence, applies.

(3) The limitations of liability in paragraphs (1) and (2) do not apply where SWS AG is liable for injury to life, body or health, for damage to privately used property under the German Product Liability Act, or where liability is otherwise mandatory by law.

(4) The access authorisation and password issued to a tour operator or partner may be used only by that tour operator or partner and must not be disclosed to third parties. The tour operator or partner is liable for all reservations made using the password assigned to it.

Section 16 Final provisions

(1) Due to the technical characteristics of the internet, uninterrupted availability of all booking modules at www.alte-saline.de cannot be guaranteed.

(2) If individual clauses are or become invalid, this does not affect the validity of the remaining clauses.

(3) German law applies exclusively. The sole place of performance for delivery, service and payment is Berchtesgaden. If both contracting parties are merchants, the courts responsible for Berchtesgaden (Laufen Local Court and Traunstein Regional Court) have exclusive jurisdiction, to the extent permitted by law, over all disputes arising directly or indirectly from the contractual relationship.

Right of withdrawal for consumers

The statutory right of withdrawal currently applies only to our product vouchers. There is no right of withdrawal for contracts concerning the provision of services related to leisure activities if the contract provides for a specific date or period of performance.

You have the right to withdraw from this contract within fourteen days without giving any reason.

The withdrawal period is fourteen days from the day on which you or a third party designated by you, other than the carrier, took possession of the goods.

You may use the attached model withdrawal form, but this is not mandatory. You may also exercise your right of withdrawal online using the withdrawal button in the footer of our website. If you use this online function, we will immediately send you an acknowledgement of receipt on a durable medium, for example by email, containing information on the content of the withdrawal declaration and the date and time at which it was received.

To meet the withdrawal deadline, it is sufficient for you to send the notification concerning the exercise of the right of withdrawal before the withdrawal period has expired.

Consequences of withdrawal

If you withdraw from this contract, we will reimburse all payments received from you, including delivery costs, except for additional costs resulting from your choice of a type of delivery other than the least expensive standard delivery offered by us, without undue delay and no later than fourteen days from the day on which we receive notification of your withdrawal from this contract. We will use the same means of payment for this reimbursement as you used for the original transaction, unless expressly agreed otherwise with you. In no event will you incur any fees as a result of this reimbursement.
